Alison Hammond, 50, Gushes Over Boyfriend David Putman, 28, Calling His Energy ‘Beautiful’

Alison Hammond has opened up with rare candour about her relationship with boyfriend David Putman, describing their bond as peaceful, joyful and built on a connection she calls “very rare.”

The This Morning presenter, 50, has been dating David, 28, since 2023, but has largely kept their romance out of the public eye. In a new interview, however, Alison shared a glimpse into her private life — and made it clear she is happier and more settled than ever.

Their relationship, she says, is going “really, really well.”

“He just has the most beautiful energy,” Alison said. “Everyone feels it when they’re around him. I’m incredibly grateful that he chooses to spend his life with me.”

A Quiet, Grounded Love

Despite her high-profile television career, Alison insists their relationship is refreshingly calm and uncomplicated.

“He brings such a sense of peace,” she explained. “There’s no drama. There’s just support, laughter and kindness.”

The couple are planning to spend Christmas together with Alison’s son Aiden, 20, opting for a relaxed celebration this year. Rather than hosting at home, they plan to enjoy a low-key meal out — something Alison says suits their dynamic perfectly.

How Love Has Changed Her

Reflecting on the impact the relationship has had on her, Alison admitted it’s subtly reshaped how she approaches life.

“Being in love makes you more patient,” she said. “It makes you kinder. You always have someone you want to look after — and someone who looks after you in return.”

While the couple have no immediate wedding plans, Alison was clear that commitment doesn’t have to come with a ring.

They currently live together and are content with where they are. Still, she added with a smile that if David were to propose, she wouldn’t be saying no.

“I don’t need marriage to validate what we have,” she said. “But I’m not against it either.”

Support Without Competition

David, who works as a masseuse, has previously been the subject of light-hearted jokes from Alison — including her playful remark that she used to get better massages when she paid for them herself.

Behind the humour, however, Alison has repeatedly stressed how supportive he is of her demanding career.

“He just backs me,” she has said previously. “Anyone I allow into my life supports what I do and is genuinely happy for me.”

Protecting David’s privacy has also been a conscious choice. Alison has explained that keeping parts of their relationship out of the spotlight helps preserve a sense of normality — especially for someone not accustomed to public scrutiny.

Addressing the Age Gap

The couple’s 22-year age difference has occasionally drawn attention, but Alison insists it’s something she barely notices.

“On paper, people see it,” she has said. “But when they see us together, they get it. People literally say, ‘We understand now.’”

She remains unfazed by commentary, choosing instead to focus on how the relationship feels rather than how it looks to outsiders.

Confidence Earned, Not Given

Alongside her personal happiness, Alison continues to speak openly about navigating criticism and pressure in the public eye.

With over two decades in the industry, she says she has learned when to say no, when to rest, and when to ignore outside noise.

“I’ve worked hard for more than 22 years to be here,” she said. “I don’t let other people’s opinions define that.”

For Alison, this chapter of her life isn’t about proving anything — to critics, to the media, or to strangers online.

It’s about contentment, support, and choosing joy.

And by the sound of it, that’s exactly what she’s found.
